Graduates of the recent Maine Veterans’ Home (MVH) Certified Nursing Assistant Training program where honored at the facility by family, friends, administrators, instructors and Workforce Development training partners.  The fast-paced curriculum offered two weeks of Work Ready training at Augusta Adult Education, 33 Union Street in Augusta, followed by 12 weeks of classroom and clinical instruction at MVH to meet the 180 hours required for state certification
The course, valued at over $2,000 per participant, was no cost to candidates meeting eligibility requirements for Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding provided by Western Maine Community Action (WMCA). 
Maine Veterans’ Home, 310 Cony Road, Augusta  will be hosting an Open House on Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. until noon offering an opportunity for anyone interested in a career in Health Care to tour the facility, visit with staff and meet with WMCA staff to register for interviews.
