Community partners representing both Augusta and Maranacook Adult and Community Education, Maine Staffing Group, FedCap, Associated General Contractors of Maine, and Western Maine Community Action have been meeting throughout the month in collaboration to provide a Commercial Drivers’ License Course.  The course will train drivers for the construction industry, commercial deliveries, school buses and snowplowing.  The CDL-B course, with the WorkReady component, is valued at $2958 per person.  There is no cost for eligible participants.  Deadline for registration is Friday, August 31st.  An Orientation is schedule for Thursday, September 6th at 1:30 p.m. at the Augusta Adult and Community Education campus, 33 Union Street, Augusta.  FMI contact the Lewiston CareerCenter, 207.753.9001 or 800.741.2991.  TTY users please call Maine Relay 711.  Visit https://www.facebook.com/WesternMaineCommunityAction/ or http://www.wmca.org/ for additional training opportunities and updates.
